And the LORD God put the human in the garden of Eden to serve and protect it.
—Genesis 2:15

The Hope College community appreciates God's gift of creation and believes we show respect for God's world through conscientious stewardship of the earth's resources. This stewardship includes considering the theological connections with our environment, critical examination of our own consumption habits and advocacy for an ecologically just world. Care of creation is part of our call to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with our God (Micah 6:8).

If you desire to learn more, the following websites further explore the connection between ecology and faith.
